Jesse Brown found good fishing in Bullfrog Bay to start the new year off right. The pattern was to find birds (grebes and gulls) actively working and then locating bait fish on the graph. When in the right location, casting crankbaits to the brushy shoreline with the boat in 20 feet of water worked well. Many different crank baits from rattletraps to Norman Little N's worked fine when in the right spot.
Largemouth, stripers and walleye were caught often enough to make braving the cold weather worth while.
Similar results were found in Red Canyon with more stripers caught there along with a mix of bass and walleye.
