Got to Bullfrog Thursday Nov 3, went to the back of Bullfrog, in 15 to 20ft of water, around brush, and started catching Striper's on Walleye assassin's, Salt and pepper. It was fun, but mostly small Striper's, but like football's, with the biggest one around 2 1/2lb. caught 17, and went back to the houseboat.

Sam and Dustin arrived from Colorado, and we got going on our trip to Four mile canyon around 10am. Got there around 3:00PM, and tied off the boat, and went fishing, fishing started off good, and just got better as we went. Caught Largemouth's,Smallmouth's, Crappie, and Striper's in Four Mile, til dark. Got woke up to the sound of rain, early in the mourning Saturday Nov 5th. Rained most of the day, and we just relaxed, and waited it out, none of us took wet gear. It was a cold rain. When it finally stopped, we went to Hite, and trolled Hyper Striper's, on Umbrella rig, and two single Hyper's. Not a lot of difference this trip, fish were scattered, and not fast, but still good fishing, for some fat Striper's, up to 5lb, in 36 to 40ft of water.

Sunday was a lot the same, mainly Striper fishing with the same rig's. Caught a lot of fish. Monday, we woke up to rain again, and sat there for a while, and decided to go to Hite and try Walleye's, with bottom bouncer's, and Night crawler's, we were in 12 to17ft of water, and started catching them right away. Only problem, we didn't take but four dozen Crawler's, and left two of them at the house boat. So we decided to go to Red canyon, and fish for Striper's. Went into 21 to 45ft of water, and it was a lot more challenging than Hite, because of the hump's, and tree's in there, we lost a lot of Hyper's, but were catching nice fat Striper's also, We spent two mornings in there, about 4 to 5 hrs total, and caught 25 striper's, all very nice fish, and water temp's were 60 in there. We fished Tuesday and Wednesday for Walleye's in the mourning for an hour and a half, and we caught 30 for 4 1/2 hour's spent, with four dozen Crawler's.
We had gone to the back of North Wash, to see if the Striper's were in the shallow's, but instead found Shad there. We threw a net for them, and they were thousand's of them in there. We used them in the tree top's, to catch Bass, Crappie's, and Striper's. It was the bait of the trip. Reminded me of fishing minnow's in Kentucky, when I was growing up. Only difference, we could use them alive, but it made no difference to these fish, if the Shad were big, we cut them in half or third's, and it made no difference at all.
Note: I haven't been using Walleye rig's near enough, and they are way under fished at Powell, as far as I can tell. Shad are a killer bait for a lot of fish, in a lot of situation's, where other artificials don't work that day, or week. We caught big number's of fish this trip, and all were healthy, Crappie to 15", A 19" Walleye, was just under 3lbs, they were fat and feisty pig's. Striper's to 5lb, and most were 3 1/2 to 4lb on the North end, and we never caught any real small Smallmouth's this year, they were 1 1/2 to 2 lbs. Largemouth's were like football's, and we never fished just for bass, we just caught them fishing for the rest. What another great trip, with great friend's, Sam and Dustin From Granby Colorado.
You all have a good one, and see you next time.
