Back From The South

Just back to Flagstaff from the lower lake. The boils were unpredictable and ranged from spectacular to nonexistant. The fish were incredible, fat averaging 4 lbs. We used light tackle so only filled an ice chest and a half. It also seemed the fish were a little finicky compared to up north earlier this summer. Here goes.
Tuesday early: went counter clockwise around Antelope. Only saw a few splashes. No takers.
Tuesday at 10AM: Ran into a nice boil just south of Lone Rock. Caught one before they went down. They came up a couple hundred yards away, but I couldn't get there in time.
Tuesday 6:30 PM: Nice boil just south of the tires at Wahweap. They stayed up aboput half an hour. Great time!
Wednesday early: A few splashes around to buoy 2. Then a tremendous boil near the south wall at 3A, west of Antelope Point. They stayed up for about an hour and a half. Big frenzie all around us! I have never seen anything like it.
Worked hard the rest of Wed and Thur AM. Didn't see another boil or even a decent splash. Go figure...Good luck up there this weekend. Looks like a lot of boats are headed up.
Folks in the room next to me at The Page Boy were up all night with bed bugs... bummer.
The stateline cleaning station was on the blink.....double bummer.
