supporting the draining of Lake Powell???

Recently Backpacker magazine published an article in support of making Glen Canyon and Lake Powell a National Park.

Lake Powell is already designated a National Recreation Area so this is a suspicious action to say the least.

In doing so they expressed their support towards others that also want to see this change http://www.backpacker.com/article/1,2646,9365,00.html – Some of these others include the Glen Canyon Institute and Living Waters both of these organizations have for years advocated the draining of Lake Powell. The Sierra Club ranks at the top of the list of those seeking to drain Lake Powell.

That is why I find it so puzzling that Honda Motors has chosen to advertise with Backpacker (BP) magazine on their website - http://www.backpacker.com/ .

In BP’s mission statement it clearly states their desire to close off areas of access restricting them to only the Pure Hiker.

“ We support programs, policies, and behavior that encourages protection of our current wilderness areas and well-considered designation of new ones.” Backpacker magazine Mission Statement http://www.backpacker.com/mission/0,3130,,00.html

It is very curious why Honda the seller of off road ATV’s, dirt bikes, generators, trolling motors, outboard motors, ATV’s and countless accessories for these product would support an organization that is aligned with these extreme liberal environmental groups. They are the very groups that strive to close off access to the customers who buy HONDA products.

So what’s up with Honda?
